Acid Blue
Acid Blue formed in 2009 in Puerto de la Cruz, North Tenerife, with the talent of relatively young musicians Sergio Garcia on Sax, Alfonso Trujillo on Bass, Luis Saurez on Percussion, Akior Garcia on Drums and Francisco Galan on Guitar. This instrumental quintet draws its inspiration from artists such as Chick Corea, John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Jobim, bringing standards to life with an adventurous, fresh approach and distinct Brazilian flavour. In addition to their unique reworking of some jazz classics from the last century, Acid Blue are active composers and arrangers, with several original studio works. Frequently, the band can be seen performing live throughout the Canary Islands, and are gaining a reputation as one of this island’s jazz prodigies.
Benito Cabrera
Over 20 years ago, Benito Cabrera released “Concierto de Timple”, his first of 8 studio albums. His instrument of choice, the Timple, has been included in traditional Canarian music for centuries, and although Benito is influenced by this heritage, he is adventerous with his arrangements, introducing both classical and contemporary melodies and arrangements. His second album, “Timple y Orquesta”, featured the Tenerife Symphonic Orchestra, and still remains the only recording ever made of a Symphonic orchestra with the addition of the timple. His live tours and concerts are world renowned, with performances in Cuba, New York, Texas, Japan, Argentina, Berlin and many other countries. In 2009, Benito Cabrera released a compilation CD of his works over the previous 20 years, a true revelation of this maestro’s evolution, adaptation and integrity.
Beselch Rodriguez
Born in La Laguna in 1984, at the age of twelve Beselch Rodriguez received his first Timple as a Christmas present from his grandfather, and by 1998 he was sharing the stage with many of the island's folkloric groups. In 2009, he debuted his first studio album, “In-Differente”, a radical fusion of traditional Canarian Island Timple styles, Bossa, Jazz and World influences. The album mainly consists of original compositions, and was co-produced by Beselch and Marco de Castillo, who also played guitar on this project, joined by Kiko Leon on Drums, Carlos Perdomo on Electric Bass, Sisi de Castillo on Percussion and Pablo Diaz on Flute. Having broken many traditional musical boundaries with critical acclamation, Beselch has recently found himself in the international spotlight, recently representing the Canary Islands in a major Cost Rican World Music Festival, though he still remains very active on the local festival scene.
The Jeremías Martín Group
In March 2010, The Jeremías Martín Group released their debut studio album, “Nuevos Aires”. This album is a testimonial to the talent and ingenuity of Jeremías Martín, a young tenerifian Accordion player and composer who embraces the pure, traditional values of this instrument, whilst projecting his music with a fusion of modern sounds and styles. The Jeremías Martín Group features Santi Bobet on Guitar, Ivan Moreno on Electric Bass, Ciro Hernandez on Cello and Akior Garcia on Drums. This quintet have performed in many major music festivals throughout the Canary Islands.,
Korsak
Korsak has established itself as one of these Island’s most formidable Acoustic Rock Groups, focussed upon their own original works which are created with thought provoking lyrics and rhythmic, organic sounds. The line up went through several changes during the last decade, and now, founder Simon Korsak feels that he’s found the right chemistry, with Israel Garcia on Guitar and Vocals, Aleks Burdeos on Drums, Rasty Skocik on Electric Bass and David Lopez Gutierrez on Percussion, with Simon himself on Vocals and Rhythm Guitar. In 2009, the band released “Free Feet”, a studio album consisting of 13 original compositions, recorded and edited in Tenerife with the collaboration of Kike Perdomo and Dremen. Korsak have a very busy agenda, with a 2010 UK tour and frequent concerts throughout the archipelago.
La Mirada Automatica
At the beginning of 2008, an audio-visual experiment was created in El Sauzal, North Tenerife, comprising of fusions of electronic, guitar and acoustic styles. La Mirada Automatica features Juani Cantero on flutes and electronic instruments, Tony Peña on Guitars and effects, José Manuel Guillén on electronic instruments, mixdown and visual projection effects, and Fátima Rodriguez on Vocals. The style is futuristic, yet personal and organic, with elements of Trip Hop, Fado and Broken Groove co-existing in a surprisingly natural form. La Mirada Automatica Uno is the group’s first studio album, which consists of 5 original compositions, complemented by 5 very distinctive cover versions. The group can be seen live throughout the islands, with mesmerising audio-visual performances and productions.

La Vieja Morla
In 2005, La Vieja Morla began touring the bar and club scene with their unique energetic brand of Pop Rock, courtesy of Jesús on Vocals and Guitar, Oliver on Drums and Adrián on Electric Bass. By 2008, the band had penned enough original material to record their first studio album, “Y Yo Con Estos Pelos..”. By this time, their positive lyrics and vibrant style had gained them a reputation as one of Tenerife´s most entertaining bands, and their live agenda became even busier. In 2010, their 2nd studio album, “Once Días”, was released on the Multitrack Label, produced by Emilio Mercader, and illustrates how this group have evolved, without losing the “Vieja Morla” raw rock trademark.
Stephen Sherriff
Stephen Sherriff was trained in the UK as a classical organist, graduating from Birmingham Conservaroire in 1990. After working with several musicals and performing at Leeds, Brecon and Birmingham Jazz Festivals, he relocated to the Canary Islands, where his first live appearance was at the Fuerteventura Festival. In 2003, his first studio album, Groovin On A Breeze, was released, featuring 6 instrumental compositions and just one cover version. The album features some of Europe’s finest session musicians, including Bryan Corbett whos Trumpet and Flugel Horn have a distinct presence throughout the album. The Steve Sherriff Quartet is currently active on the Jazz Festival scene throughout these islands, and Steve is also working on 2 other parallel projects, The Factory, with its Chilled House style, and Soul On Fire, embracing contemporary Soul and Funk.
